Becky Moore, Small Groups Director

Becky serves as the Small Group Ministries Director at Calvary Church. Born in Akron, Ohio, she moved to Memphis as a child in the summer of 1977. Becky has a degree in Business Data Processing from a local technical community college. She married Lynn, a Memphis native, in 1985 and they have a son, Ben, and a daughter, Hannah. They have been members of Calvary Church since the fall of 1985.

Becky accepted Christ during a church service when she was in the fourth grade but really committed her life to Him when she was baptized at age fourteen. She worked for a small computer firm in Memphis after her high school graduation and was promoted to Department Manager by the age of nineteen. From there she worked as Manager of the Back Office Systems for Perkins Restaurants National Headquarters. In 1996, she sensed God leading her to quit work to become a stay-at-home mom. God then began to prepare her for ministry by giving her an unquenchable thirst to study His Word. She began enrolling in one Bible study after another, and that thirst remains to this day. After serving as Calvary’s Campaign Director for 40 Days of Purpose in the fall of 2003, Becky joined the Ministry Team as Small Group Ministries Director. She has a passion for God’s Word and a desire to see people grow spiritually through a small group experience.

Becky enjoys reading a good book, playing Scrabble, and having long conversations with close friends over dinner and dessert. She is also a University of Memphis basketball fan. She loves spending time in the mountains, rafting, hiking, rollerblading and snow skiing. Christian music has always played a large part in her personal worship as well. She loves studying God’s Word in her Bible Study Fellowship group (www.bsfinternational.org).
