MAD (Making A Difference) Projects
At Calvary Church, making a difference (MAD) in our
community is of highest priority.
Therefore, we have begun an initiative of MAD projects, encouraging the
body of our church to plan and perform projects born out of their own
passions. Below, you will find
places of involvement of some of these efforts along with links that tell a
little more about the ministry.
Ira B. Samelson Boys and Girls Club
Signature Healthcare - Reading, playing Bingo, manicures, listening and caring!
Construction projects at Hope House (a ministry for women
just released from prison)
Clothing drive for Youth Villages
Mid-South Food Bank food sorting projects
Neighborhood Christian Center (Chicken Strut, holiday food
and toy drives)
Care ministry to families of patients at The MED (Regional
Medical Center)
Backpacks for needy children in Memphis City Schools
Salvation Army Angel Tree gift sorting and distribution
Work with the Exceptional Foundation of Memphis (reaching
out to the mentally- and physically-challenged)
Host site for and participant in Common Ground (promoting
discussions about race relations)
Compassion in the Streets (ministering to the homeless and
those in prison)
Salvation Army meals program for families at Christmas
Helped serve meals at Memphis Union Mission
Led worship at the Dogwood Village Mental Health Facility
for children
