Lynn
was called to preach at the age of 13.
He graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University
with a Bachelors degree in Religion and Business, and then received his Masters
of Divinity at Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri.
He came to Calvary Church as Pastor in 1996, having previously pastored
in Alabama, Texas
and Oklahoma.
Lynn
considers himself a “grace preacher” who recognizes that we all have needs and
room for improvement, which is precisely why Christ willingly died for us – to
offer us the ability to deal victoriously with the issues that life throws at
us and to experience the grace of God on a daily basis.
Lynn
understands this first hand. His wife of 26 years passed away after a two-year
battle with cancer, and he personally experienced the daily grace and enabling
power of God as he continued pastoring. As a widower, he was blessed to have
remarried to his wife, Robin, in 2006. Lynn and Robin’s blended family is
comprised of five children and one granddaughter.
Lynn
raises horses and enjoys trail riding and equestrian activities. He also enjoys golf, shooting and various
outdoor activities. One of his favorite
authors is Max Lucado. One of his
favorite past times is eating, and he believes that “chocolate” should be its
own food group! He and Robin enjoy
traveling together and love ministering to God’s people at Calvary Church
and in the Memphis
community.
